Walk me through a time production went down unexpectedly during your shift. What did you do first, what did you own, and when did you escalate?
A line goes down unexpectedly in the middle of the shift. Walk me through what you do first and what you personally own.
First I stop the affected work and make sure we are not creating a safety or quality issue. I confirm what changed with the operator, check the obvious inputs and alarms, and call maintenance when it is beyond an operator-level correction.
What happens while maintenance is working the issue?
I contain anything that could be questionable, tell Quality what we know, and rebalance people to work that can still run. I give the next shift the failure, what maintenance tried, and what material is on hold. I document the downtime reason, but our notes were not always as detailed as I wanted.
